Six Month Photo Shoot

Violet just really does not like photographers... or strangers really.  We did get one picture of her smiling, but all the rest she looks sad, worried or frightened.  I wish we could capture how happy and smiley she is on camera.  Oh well, even with her unhappy expressions, she still looks cute!

Six Months Old

Violet is half a year old!  She had her six month weigh in and for the first time ever, she went up in her weight percentile!  She is now 1.1%, which of course is still quite light, but we are very excited that she is making progress.  We attribute the weight gain to acid reflux medication, supplementing higher calorie formula and the introduction of solid foods.  She regressed in her sleeping habits and is waking up once a night most of the time.  She is a happy girl and loves to be around her parents and her siblings.  She is nervous of most everyone else and cries if someone other than her family is holding her, talks to her or even looks at her.  This is what is going on with Violet at six months of age.

Stats: weight: 12 lbs. 6 oz. 1.1%, height 87%

She has learned: almost to sit, just needs a little support

She likes: baby food, especially the stage 2 mixed flavors, her bouncer, the Bumbo, being held, her siblings, baby toys, splashing in the bath, Elmo

She dislikes: being alone, being on her stomach

Things she does that makes us smile/laugh: constant wiggling, putting everything in her mouth, big smiles and laughs

Greg's 35th Birthday

Greg turned 35 on February 2nd.  I asked him if there was anything he'd like and he said a 22 caliber rifle so he could go shooting with our kids.  I told him to go for it.

He and I celebrated with a date night dinner to Olive Garden.  The next weekend, Greg's dad, Kelly, came into town, and he and Greg took Palmer and Brody shooting.  Archer wanted to go as well, but was too young for the range that was open that evening.  The next morning Greg took just Archer to a different range, and let him shoot as well.  All the guys/boys had a great time!  A week after that we had both sides of the family over for Sunday dinner and cake and ice cream to continue the celebration.

Happy birthday Greg!  You make 35 look good!
