Another Girl!

We had our ultrasound last week and were very excited to find out we are having a sweet baby girl come into our family!  Everyone in the family was hoping for a girl, so it was fun to tell them the news!  Avonlea especially has become more interested in the pregnancy.  Now she asks me often if there is a baby in my tummy and if it is a girl (sometimes she says princess).  She also rubs my belly whenever she walks by me.  It is very sweet.  On a funny side note, she also asked Greg if there was a baby in his tummy as she rubbed his stomach.  He replied, "No, it's food."

Easter Sunday(ish) and Recipe - Deviled Eggs

Since we were in Las Vegas for Easter, we celebrated with family the Sunday after.  Our Easter Sunday menu included: corned beef, mashed potatoes, jello salad, rolls and deviled eggs (see recipe below).  We had an egg hunt in the backyard for the kids; they all got a lot of candy!  When Sariah left that evening, she announced to all, "Happy Easter... ish!"  We all laughed and echoed back the sentiment.  I'm glad we were able to celebrate traditionally with family and our annual egg hunt even though we were out of town for the actual Easter Sunday.

Deviled Eggs

6 large hard boiled eggs
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon mustard (or honey mustard, I've done both and they are both good, they just taste a little sweeter with the honey mustard)
1 teaspoon vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Remove shells from eggs and half lengthwise with a knife.  Carefully remove yolks.  Mash yolks with a fork and add remaining ingredients.  Beat all ingredients well.  Spoon or pipe back into egg halves.  Garnish with a light sprinkling of paprika.

Fun Run

Palmer and Brody participated in their school's fun run fundraiser.  They both ran hard and completed the maximum 36 laps.  Way to go boys!

Spring Break in Las Vegas

We spent the kids' spring break in Las Vegas.  It was such a lovely, warm and fun weekend!  We drove there Friday morning/afternoon.  That evening we went to the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur.  Our section rooted for the French King.  All the kids enjoyed the show, but I think Palmer liked it the most.

We spent the next morning and afternoon at the hotel pool.  We stayed at Taihiti Suites Resort.  They had two pools and a hot tub (which actually allowed children to get in for 10 minute periods!).  The pool area was very open, not crowded and clean.  As a bonus, there was sand in the shallow areas, which was fun to play in.  The weather was 75-80 degrees and sunny, while the weather at home was cold and rainy, so it was really fun to be able to swim outside.

We went on to the strip and had an early dinner at the buffet in Paris.  It was so yummy!  Then we walked to Bellgio and saw the fountain show and the gardens, then walked to New York, New York to see the Hershey store and also visited the M&M Factory and some souvenir shops.  The kids (and my pregnant self) were exhausted after walking back.  Greg later looked up our walk on his phone and it showed we walked six miles!

The next morning was Easter.  The Easter Bunny visited us in Las Vegas and brought each of the kids a board game and jelly beans.  We spent the morning playing games, and had lunch in our room.  In the afternoon the hotel hosted an egg hunt.

From there we went to The Children's Park at Town Square.  It was very cute! There was playhouses, a splash pad and a hedge maze.

We ended our last night in Las Vegas at The Venetian.  We are dinner, watched some acts and went on a gondala ride.

Monday morning we packed up and rode home.  We were all very tired!  But we certainly had a great time!
