It's been a little while since I checked in here. Mostly because we sold our home and it has been crazy busy packing and moving. The last time we moved it was just Greg and I from a one bedroom apartment. This time was a VERY different experience. The whole ordeal was a beast! It made for good motivation for us to make sure our next home is the home we are prepared to stay in, because I do not want to do that again.
Funny story - we had the house on the market a little over a month. It was a buyer's market, it was priced right, it was looking good. Our realtor had no idea why it was not under contract. We passed the deadline for when we needed the house to be under contract to sell in time to keep the lot we had reserved. Greg and I came to the conclusion that we were not supposed to move where we had originally thought even though at the time it felt like the right place. We humbled ourselves to our Heavenly Father's will and prayed that we would be lead where we were meant to go. A little while later we received an offer on the house for the exact amount we needed to pay everything off, as well as make back what we had spent of our down payment getting the house ready to sell. We accepted and as we were filling out the paperwork, we noticed the buyer was Greg's coworker. The home he was going to buy fell through on the day of closing. They went house hunting the next day and found our home and made an offer, not knowing it was our home. Their paperwork was all ready to go from the previous house and they wanted to close in 2 1/2 weeks, which met our deadline on our lot with a couple days to spare. I really feel they were meant to live in our home and in our ward and that's why everything worked out the way it did.
We are currently living with Greg's mom who has kindly opened her home to us while we build our next house. We already miss our friends back home. But, we knew it was time to move on, and we feel really good about the future.
